The fifth of five R25 articles

This is the last of a series of five articles that will explain the enhancements to Oracle CRM On Demand in Release 25 (R25). This article's focus is on the enhancements to CRM Usability.

Users now have the ability to go directly to a detail page when searching from the action bar if only one record is returned If your search returns one result, you will be brought to that record's detail page. This is configurable by user through the Personal Action Bar Layout. This simple step will save you clicks and get you to your record more quickly.

A new context sensitive list to see all contacts associated to an account when creating an item from the account detail page Users now have an option to view "All Contacts for Related Account" or "Contacts for Related Account" (limited to primary account association). For example, users may find this most helpful when creating appointments or new leads from the account detail page.


Original Row ID is available in deleted item export when you select to export ALL fields Including the Row ID of the original object in the exported csv can help an administrator reconcile deleted records.

Users are given the ability to set their tab layout back to their Role's default layout Users and Administrators now have the flexibility to revert tab layouts back to the default assigned by Role.

Activity records are automatically created in CRM On Demand when performing a direct inward call with the Contact On Demand (Call Center)

Clarifying changes to the "Account" field of type "Address" on the Contact detail page have been made To eliminate confusion, the field labeled "Account", which represented an Account Address on the Contact detail page, has been renamed "Account Address". The field which retained the name "Account" remains a picklist field for associating the primary account.

Font and Tab Changes To appeal to tablet users, font sizes on Tabs and Action Bar titles have been increased. Additionally, a commonly used menu icon was added to expand and collapse the Action Bar.

Open Activities are split into two related items: Open Tasks and Open Appointments Users can more easily view and sort the two types of open activities.

These are well thought out changes, but before you go and train your users on the new features, double check that your data quality is not substandard. Identify your duplicate records and remove them, as users may become frustrated when these enhancements are buried in the wrong record.
