Head of Product Management  - SaaS Data Governance and Data Quality

Hours: Full-Time

ActivePrime is a small dynamic entrepreneurial SaaS company providing CRM Data Governance solutions to Enterprise organizations.  We are seeking a Head of Product Management to take full responsibility for both current and new product lines.  This is a creative role that requires rolling up the sleeves, wearing many hats, and leaping over obstacles with a very positive attitude for success.  We’re looking for someone who can be comfortable with ambiguity and make decisions on gut instincts when all the data is not available.  This is a largely telecommuting work from home position (i.e. 80-90% telecommuting).
 

Our Ideal Candidate:

You help create and lead the execution of the product vision, strategy, roadmap and rollout for GA.  You know the market, our products, and the competition inside out.  You naturally step into the shoes of our thousands of users.  Your job is to drive execution and remove roadblocks to ship on-target GA efficiently.  You know when to change plans and how to focus the entire team on key priorities.   You convince others to do what needs to happen to drive market growth and revenue.  You prevent things from falling through the cracks and turn a “no” (which is everyone’s default answer) into a “yes” by getting resourceful.  You are super-user of the existing product and report bugs often before others find them.  

It’s your job to fill the gaps from everything to triaging hundreds of low priority bugs to revising PPTs for the upteenth time to writing blogs to re-doing diagrams until they are just right, and creating yet another version of the wireframes.  It’s your job to make thousands of decisions so the entire team can move forward.  And it’s your job to continually analyze - what segments are our best customers in, what does the continually changing marketplace demand, and continually research.

 

The Job:

  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience to generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth

  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies

  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes

  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact

  • Develop priorities and guidelines (relating to product/customers) for engineering, QA, customer success & support, including temporarily managing those functions as needed.

  • Drive marketing product launches

  • Attend important conferences and network within CRM companies

  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed

Desired Skillset:

  • Brilliance. Move fast in your thinking. Be able to analyze customer input and market data to translate into engineering priorities

  • Resourceful.  You are able to find solutions to problems by bringing them to your team and working as a group.  You don’t have to have all the ideas, just a great network to rely on and bring together for input.

  • Excel/Google sheets. Be able to interpret and analyze data.

  • Engineering or similar technical background in experience to be able to be hands on with product and know QA.  You don’t have to code but it helps if you can do basic tasks

  • Ability to build wireframes and mock up GUIs.  Write PRDs (and MRDs)

  • Able to handle many tasks in one day and route questions/inbound requests to the right place & follow-up to completion

  • “Always on” kind of person - high energy level and you take success personally.

  • Comfortable & Easily able to pick up and learn new technologies

  • Project Mgmt experience

  • Experience working from home

  • Ability to create PPTs to explain technical concepts to our various marketing personas

  • Ability to “pinch-hit” for product marketing as required, such as developing positioning, messaging, competitive differentiation, and go-to-market strategy, and ensuring team alignment.

  • Ability to review/edit marketing copy as needed

Background:

  • Experience in product management ideally in CRM and/or marketing automation

  • Experience managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle

  • Experience developing product and marketing strategies and effectively communicating recommendations to the team

  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience with software and web developers, and/or UI designers

  • Strong problem solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done

  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred, but all will be considered depending on experience

  • Easily able to use PPT, Google Drive, Skype, GoToMeeting, Jira, Smartsheets and pick up new tools as needed

  • Able to work full-time in the US/Canada

  • Willing to work global time zones as needed
